Who's who

President: Hugh O'Leary


Hugh first moved to Telegraph Hill in 1995 when he left university and has been campaigning in South East London ever since. He was Chairman of the Lewisham Deptford Conservatives from 2000 to 2004.

Hugh is a former school governor of Morden Mount Primary School, and now works as Finance Director for a property company. 

 

 

Chairman: Ross Archer

Ross has been Chairman of Lewisham Deptford Conservatives since March 2016 having previously been Chairman of Lewisham West & Penge Conservatives between 2012 and 2013. Ross has twice stood for election in Lewiaham contesting Sydenham ward in 2010 and Grove Park ward in 2014. Ross has lived in Lewisham most of his life and has been a school governor in the borough. He works for a not for profit organisation in London and has previously worked in the Housing and Transport sectors.

Deputy Chairman: Stephanie Reeves


Stephanie lives in Brockley Ward having grown up in and around south London. She joined the association 3 years ago and stood as a local election candidate for Telegraph Hill ward in 2014. She studied history and politics at the University of London before becoming a political advisor in Westminster. 

She now works in central London as a public affairs consultant. She is also currently vice chair on the board of directors for Breast Cancer UK.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Treasurer: Mike Baker

Mike has been a Governor at three Deptford Schools. Chair of Governors at Sir Francis Drake School and a Governor at Grindling Gibbons and Deptford Green Schools.

He has twice been a Council Candidate for Crofton Park Ward. He is currently the Chairman of the Deptford Rotary Club and is a past Chair of the Lewisham Deptford Conservative Association. He is also the director and treasurer of Abbeyfield Deptford Residential Home and is involved in the Brockley luncheon club.

Mike is a long-suffering Millwall fan and member and lives 250 yards away from Millwall's training ground. 

 

 

Secretary: Gemma Turrell

Gemma lives in nearby Blackheath and was a Conservative candidate in Plumstead ward in Greenwich at the 2014 local elections. Gemma grew up in Cheshire and moved to Deptford to study at the University of Greenwich. While at University Gemma was Deputy Chairman of the universities Conservative society. Gemma works as a Communications Officer in Clapham.
