Conservative campaigner, Dickon Prior, is campaigning to save the Bridge Leisure Centre in Lower Sydenham from closure. Labour-run Lewisham Council have announced the centre will not be re-opening when gyms and other leisure centres are allowed in April (if restrictions lift as planned) and are not guaranteeing the future of the centre in the long term.
A review into the long-term future of the centre is expected later this year.
Dickon is calling on the Labour-run authority to rule out considering selling the centre to developers and for the review to only consider how the centre should remain open to the public.
Support Dickon and sign the Lewisham Conservatives petition below, calling for the centre to be saved.
We the undersign call on Lewisham Council to rule out any possibility of selling The Bridge Leisure Centre to developers and for the review into the future of the centre to examine models of which the club can remain open.
