We are delighted to announce Oliver Cliff as our Conservative candidate for Grove Park in the upcoming local elections.
Born and raised in South East London, Oliver’s early years at his local state school in Tulse Hill instilled in him resilience, community spirit, and the value of hard work. Becoming one of the first in his family to graduate from university — with a Politics degree from Queen Mary University of London — was a proud milestone that shaped his commitment to public service.
In 2023, after years of saving, Oliver and his fiancé bought their first home here in Lewisham. This community has quickly become their home, and he is determined to see it thrive.
Professionally, Oliver works as a planning and communications consultant, giving him first-hand experience of how policy decisions affect communities and the crucial role local councillors play in shaping better outcomes. Now, he is ready to move beyond discussing politics and serve directly as a councillor in Grove Park.
Outside of work, Oliver is a passionate Chelsea supporter and a keen cyclist, having competed for seven years. Sport taught him discipline, perseverance and teamwork — qualities he will bring to representing residents.
Oliver’s priorities for Grove Park are clear:
- Cleaning up our streets and restoring pride in the community.
- Making our streets safer, so everyone can walk freely without fear.
- Revitalising our high streets, backing local businesses and pushing Lewisham Council to prioritise regeneration and opportunity.
- Holding the Council to account and ensuring residents’ voices are heard.
“Every resident — regardless of political affiliation — deserves a councillor who listens, responds, and works tirelessly to deliver for them,” Oliver said. “That is the kind of councillor I will be for Grove Park.”
