Conservative candidates are campaigning across Lewisham to make the case for change after 50 years of a Labour dominated council.
With 54 candidates for 54 seats across every ward in Lewisham, only the Conservatives offer a real alternative to Labour, as no other party has put forward enough candidates to challenge Labour in every seat across the borough in the upcoming May local elections.
Across Lewisham, Conservative candidates are speaking to residents, listening to concerns street by street, and putting forward a serious local alternative rooted in community pride, accountability and practical action.

“What we are seeing on the doorstep is real energy for change. After 50 years of a Labour dominated council, residents want real action on the basics: safer streets, cleaner streets and stronger support for local businesses.
Being the only party standing in every seat shows we are serious about taking that message to every part of Lewisham. We have the team, the momentum and the determination to offer a real borough-wide challenge to Labour.
Thank you to every candidate, member and supporter who helped make this possible. Now we take that energy into the campaign.”
— Sylbourne Sydial, Conservative Mayoral Candidate for Lewisham
The campaign is being driven by issues residents raise again and again on the doorstep: from cracking down on crime, anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, poor road and pavement maintenance, traffic congestion, pressure on housing, and the feeling that too often local people are not being heard.
Our manifesto focuses on the most important issues facing residents:
✅ safer streets
✅ cleaner streets
✅ better value for taxpayers
✅ improved housing
✅ stronger backing for local business
✅ fairer transport decisions
✅ and better opportunities for young people
As the campaign continues, our team will keep taking that message to every corner of Lewisham: this borough deserves better than decline being treated as normal. Residents deserve councillors who show up, listen, and fight for safer neighbourhoods, cleaner streets and stronger local communities.
