Labour cannot Guarantee Bakerloo Extension will Happen

The Labour Deputy Mayor of London for Transport has confirmed that Transport for London (TfL) cannot guarantee the future of the planned Bakerloo line extension from Elephant & Castle to Lewisham via New Cross. This adds ​even more uncertainty to the second phase of the planned extension from Lewisham to Ladywell, Catford and Lower Sydenham.


Lewisham has received unprecedented economic support to protect jobs and businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak. Across the three Lewisham constituencies 41,500 jobs have been protected through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, with Government grants covering 80 per cent of people’s wages, up to £2,500 a month.

The Conservatives are seeking clarification on what is being done to ensure our pupils don’t falls behind.

Charlie Davis welcomes extra £8,362,545 for local council services across Lewisham

· The Government is providing an additional £1.6 billion to local authorities so they have the resources they need to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

· This is in addition to the £1.6 billion already announced in March.

· Lewisham Council allocated total of £17,960,679 to continue providing essential services and support to those who need it the most.
