Bim Afolami has been selected as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Lewisham Deptford Conservatives in the 2015 General Election.
Bim's selection was authorised at a Special General Meeting in June. The Parliamentary Candidate supported Lewisham Deptford Conservatives in the build up to the local, mayoral and European elections on May 22nd. During the campaign, Bim visited every ward in Lewisham Deptford delivering leaflets and talking to voters on their doorsteps. He also represented the Party at hustings.
Bim was selected by a unanimous ballot of Party members. Tracy Sutton, Chairman of Lewisham Deptford Conservatives, said, "I am delighted that Bim Afolami has been selected as our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in Lewisham Deptford. He is dynamic and full of fresh ideas. Bim will be a real asset in the 2015 campaign and will fight hard for a seat at Westminster."
Bim says,
"I am dedicated to serving the people of Lewisham Deptford, and I am honoured to be the Conservative Party candidate for this constituency. Quite simply, I have three main priorities: 1. Education – Lewisham Deptford’s secondary schools in particular need real attention and improvement. Too many of our young people are being failed by the system and I am determined to change that. 2. Housing – There is a housing crisis in Lewisham Deptford. We need a real focus on building more affordable homes that local people can afford. 3. Jobs – Too many of our residents have to travel outside Lewisham for work, largely because of a long term failure to attract enough businesses into the area. This has to change, and that change starts now. "
